TOPIC: Desktop Icon Issues

(from Al)
Hey Willie,
Some of my desktop icons have just disappeared. Did these programs go away? If not, how do I recover the icons?

Willie Says:
You indicated that you are using Windows XP. If you uninstall a program, the icon would disappear. If not, maybe you accidentally deleted the icon. Check your trash bin.
Maybe you haven't used that program in a long time (over 60 days) and Windows XP has hidden the icon.
Windows XP creates the "Unused Desktop Shortcuts" folder on your desktop. Look for the "Hidden Icons" or "Unused Desktop Shortcuts" folder. "Windows Desktop Cleanup" will also remove old icons from your desktop. If you have used this feature, you may have removed them without knowing it. To remove other icons from your desktop, you can drag them to this folder. To restore these icons, simply drag and drop them back onto your desktop.
