TOPIC: DVD / Movie Problems

(from Jesus)
Hey Willie,
I just bought a DVD burner and installed it in my computer. I loaded the software as instructed and rebooted my computer. And nothing happens. The door will open and close but the DVD won't run. Did I overlook something?

Willie Says:
Hi Jesus. I believe you are using an IDE drive and not a SATA. IDE cables are flat and about two inches wide with a colored stripe on one side. If you already have a CD player or another DVD player installed in your computer, you will need to check the jumper on the back of the unit. If there are 2 CD or DVD players installed in one computer, one has to be set at "Master" and the other one is set at "Slave". The markings are on the unit itself, though very small and hard to see, they should be there and show you how to set the unit at either Master or Slave.
(note: a jumper is a tiny little connector that connects the top row of pins to the bottom row in a certain position)
